Hello all and hopefully you are keeping safe and busy.
Many of you have so much time to garden now and your gardens have never looked so tidy.
Some of you will manage to get bedding plants and we are informed that GP Gardeners are offering a delivery service. It is such a shame that the Annual Competition has had to be cancelled.
We are being asked why it was necessary to cancel the Annual Garden Competition when it is so far in the future but with our Chairman and others on the Committee in isolation, some for 12 weeks, the logistics of getting the paperwork and printing sorted for entries would have been impossible. Also, there is no way of even knowing if judging could take place as nothing is certain with the Coronavirus Pandemic. Businesses, schools and pubs are all closed, and it would be unlikely to have entries from them even if the lockdown is lifted.
Keep gardening and look forward to next year when it is hoped many more residents will have got the “gardening bug” and enter the Enfield in Bloom Competition.
